2024 Golden Globe Nominations

After a tumultuous year in Hollywood, marked by two strikes and the release of major blockbuster films, the entertainment industry is slowly returning to normalcy in 2024. Amid the rescheduling of various awards shows, the year commences with the prestigious Golden Globes, honoring outstanding achievements in film and television.

The Golden Globes faced significant uncertainty and criticism due to multiple controversies surrounding the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the organization responsible for organizing and presenting the awards. These controversies brought into question the credibility and integrity of the awards ceremony.

However, Eldridge Industries, a company owned by billionaire Todd Boehly, and Dick Clark Productions stepped in to salvage the situation and ensure the continuity of the prestigious awards ceremony. Recognizing the importance and cultural significance of the Golden Globes, they strategically decided to acquire the HFPA’s Golden Globes assets.

With this acquisition, Eldridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions have set their sights on transforming the Golden Globes into an even more glamorous and esteemed event capable of rivaling the highly revered Academy Awards. Their goal is not only to restore the confidence and trust of the industry and the public but also to elevate the prestige and influence of the Golden Globes on the global stage.

This year’s voting body comprises 310 international journalists, reflecting efforts to enhance inclusivity and diversity within the organization. The event promises to be star-studded, marking the unofficial beginning of the awards season. Notably, there have been changes in the nomination process, with most categories now featuring six nominees, except for a new category recognizing cinematic and box office achievements, which will have eight. The Golden Globes ceremony will be held on January 7, 2024, broadcast live on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+.
